How can a memorial narrative which appears to be “auto-“, “bio-“ and “graphic”, without being “autobiographic”, be staged? How can one speak about incomprehension and disappointment when there are no (more) victims to blame?

This performance enters the world of a love letter intertwined with a farewell letter. “Lamento Imenso” has a double meaning in the Portuguese language. The title can mean both “I lament immensely” and “an immense lament”. This meta-linguistic exercise is the backbone of the performance and is a letter from, simultaneously as it is a letter to.

Lamento Imenso | Helsinki premiers in Finland and is a kick-off for the performances of the year 2023 in places where the artist lives, has lived, would love to live or pretend to live. In August 2022, the performance was shown as a project in progress and a preview at the Festival Citemor, Portugal.
